Driver profiles
Sir John Whitmore
John was born in 1937 into a rural wartime childhood. He was educated at Eton College, Sandhurst Royal Military Academy, and Cirencester Agricultural College before becoming a professional racing driver. He won both British and European Saloon Car Championships and was a member of the Le Mans winning Ford Works team.
Robert Harvey
Rob Harvey lives on the Wirral Penisula and works as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
He raced Formula Ford from 1994 to 1997, then moved onto Classic F3 with Chevron B43, winning the Derek Bell Class National Championship in 1999-2000. He then began racing Euro F2 and the Force series with a Chevron B17C/Lotus 69. He is now racing in Orwell Supersports and World Sportscar Masters in a Chevron B19.
Kelvin Jones
Kelvin started Sprinting in 1988 with a Lotus 23 and Merlyn MK20. He bought a 1967 Lotus 7, totally restored it and had his first Circuit race at Oulton Park in 1992. Kelvin had his first International race in 1992 at Watkins Glen in a Lotus 69. He also raced an FJ Mallock along with an Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV to 3 in the HSCC 1960, S Classic sports car Championship in 1999. He has also raced cars from FF 1600 to Jaguar D Type and Chevron B19 sports cars.
Andy Middlhurst
Andy Middlehurst is from St Helens in Lancashire, he motored to victory in the British Saloon 2000 Championships in a Nissan Skyline GTR in the min '90's. Middlehurst says that the car was modified slightly to produce 350 bhp compared with the standard 280 bhp, but is otherwise a fairly standard car.
Andy's racing history consists of:
Age 13 - 16: Raced on motorcycles, North West Champion for 2 years, Lancashire team member
1980 - 1984: Formula Ford 1600 racing cars. Raced with Ayrton Senna in 1981. 1982 Dunlop Star of Tomorrow Champion. 1983 P & O Ferries. 6th in World Final in 1983.
1984 - 1986: National Rallying: Several class wins including Manx Rally, Scottish Rally. Class winner 1986 24 hour Ipres Rally, Belgium. Competitor in 1984 RAC Rally.
1987 - 1989: Saloon Circuit racing in VW Golf’s. 1988 Monroe Champion 1989 Firestone Champion. Total 14 wins.
1990: Ford Sierra Cosworth: British Production Saloon Car Champion. 14 race wins.
1991: British Touring Car Championship. Ford Motor Company. Several podium finishes.
1992: B.T.C.C. works Nissan driver.
1993: Works Nissan Driver in National Saloon Car Championship (Nissan Sunny).
1994: 3rd place in National Saloon Car Championship.
1995: Outright winner, (11 wins) British Saloon Car Champion in Nissan Skyline GTR.
1996: Outright winner, once again in the Nissan Skyline, (5 wins and 4 second places) in the British Saloon Car Championship.
Outright winner of National Saloon Car Championship in Texaco/Nissan Primera with 7 wins.
Outright winner of National Saloon Car Championship in Texaco/Nissan Primera with 7 wins once more.
Competing for Nissan Motorsport in the 24 hour race at Nurburgring.
2000 to present day: Competing in the Historic racing in Formula 2 race
